Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BiteSnap, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use BiteSnap.
User Content
You retain ownership of the content you create and share on BiteSnap. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within our services.
Prohibited Content
You are strictly prohibited from uploading, posting, transmitting, or otherwise making available any content that: (a) is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable; (b) contains graphic, violent, or sexually explicit imagery; (c) promotes or glorifies violence, terrorism, or illegal activities; (d) infringes upon any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other proprietary rights; (e) contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code; or (f) violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation in any jurisdiction, including but not limited to the jurisdiction in which you reside. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you upload complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
Community Guidelines
BiteSnap is committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive community. By using our services, you agree to: (a) treat all users with respect and dignity; (b) refrain from posting content that is insulting, discriminatory, or intended to harass, bully, or intimidate others; (c) not engage in hate speech, threats of violence, or any form of abusive behavior; (d) communicate constructively and refrain from personal attacks; and (e) report any violations of these guidelines to our moderation team. We encourage positive interactions and expect all users to contribute to a welcoming environment for food enthusiasts of all backgrounds.
Enforcement and Account Suspension
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to investigate any suspected violations of these Terms or our Community Guidelines. In the event of a violation, we may take any action we deem appropriate, including but not limited to: (a) issuing warnings; (b) removing or disabling access to any content that violates these Terms; (c) temporarily or permanently suspending your account without prior notice; and (d) pursuing any other legal remedies available to us. In cases involving illegal content or activities, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities and may disclose your information as required by law or legal process. Account suspensions for serious violations, including but not limited to the upload of illegal content, may be permanent and without recourse.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to BiteSnap at any time for violations of these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use our services will immediately cease. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.
Limitation of Liability
BiteSnap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page.
Right of Withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht)
Under German law (§ 356 Abs. 5 BGB), consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. However, for digital content and services not supplied on a physical medium, this right of withdrawal expires once the performance of the service has begun. By using BiteSnap and accessing our digital content and services, you expressly consent to the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. This applies in particular to any digital cookbooks, premium content, or other digital services purchased through BiteSnap.
